Andres, founder of Colorearte Kids

Hi, I'm Andres 👋

Graphic designer. Creative dad. And the person behind every page of Colorearte Kids.

My story

One afternoon, I watched my daughter flip through a generic coloring book and lose interest in two minutes. The drawings were flat. The pages felt like filler. Nothing made her stop and say "wow."

I'm a graphic designer. I knew I could do better — so I did.

I started drawing at night, after the kids went to bed. Characters that made me laugh. Scenarios I knew they'd love. Pages with enough detail to be interesting, but simple enough for little hands.

My kids were my first test. If they didn't get excited flipping through a proof copy, it didn't go to print. That's how Colorearte Kids was born. Not as a business first — as a dad trying to make something worth his daughter's attention.

Why coloring books matter

Screens are not going away. But they don't have to be the default.

There's something different about a child with a crayon and a blank page. They slow down. They focus. They make decisions — what color should this lion be? what happens next in this story?

Every book from Colorearte Kids is designed to give children a space to be the author of something, even if it's just the color of a frog.

How a book is made

1. The idea — Every book starts with a question: what do kids love right now? Animals, sports, seasons — topics that are naturally exciting become the canvas.

2. The characters — Designed to be expressive, simple, and a little funny. They need to make a 4-year-old smile when they first see the page.

3. The test — Proof copies go to my kids first. I watch which pages they go to first, which ones they color completely, and which ones they skip. The skipped ones get redesigned.

4. Amazon — Once the book passes the kid test, it goes live on Amazon. Paperback, ready to ship worldwide.
